Because of the Southern California "Santa Ana winds" our back wooden fence was demolished. Stump Fencing had previously done the front and sides of our home with sturdy vinyl fence and that's why we knew they could depend on them to replace our old fence with vinyl.Just this week, Stump crew (Perfecto and Rico) showed up and within a day and a half, were able to do a professional and fast job. That crew worked hard, especially dealing with the rock ground of Fontana.Stump did an outstanding fencing job!!! The Crew's professionalism and courtesy is a direct reflection of Stump Fencing! What a great job they did for us!!! I would highly recommend. They are very busy, so please be patient--good things come to those who wait!! The team worked extra hard, and did an extremely professional job. I had over 100' of hill-top fence removed and replaced. We have a slight grade difference between my neighbor's yard and mine, so Matt suggested we put some extra support at the base of the fence, and I'm so glad we did. No other company noticed the grade difference when I was getting estimates. We went with a "neighbor" (alternating) fence design since our neighbor did split the cost with us. Matt actually wrote up two contracts, so I only had to worry about my portion. Thanks again Team Stump!!

Used Stump Fence to replace a rotted wooden fence between a neighbor. They provided good communication and fast work. Always responded fast to questions. And priced very competitively. Would recommend to anyone needing a vinyl fence.

Luis and Gerardo did an excellent job on a wood fence in our yard. It was uneven surface with a few massive old tree roots in the way and they handled it so beautifully. They had excellent communication up front about some of the issues that could arise from the setting and talked me through options for solving the problems. We are very pleased with the results and would use them again. Note that Stump is very busy so we did have to book this job a couple months out.

Did great work, fair price,. I had an issue with the gate 4 months after they installed the fence. They came and fixed it without delay. I recommended them to my son when they needed a fence.

Stump Fence recently installed a redwood cap and trim fence in our backyard. After getting a few quotes, we went with Stump because of their outstanding customer service and top notch craftsmanship- we have seen their work around Glendora (fences in our neighborhood with the Stump sticker!), and on their website, and it was by far superior to the other few places we consulted. Our new fence is beautiful!

Just great work. Prices good and the gentlemen who came to do the job were very nice, respectful of property around the work area and kepy me updated on how much work had been done.

What a joy! Well, I met with other fencers who gave me prices that were higher for this medium-sized job that included a few things. The other fence companies said, "Oh yeah, we'll put in the fence, but we won't stain," and, "Sure, we'll do the fence, but we won't put in the cement block you need under the one section, you'll have to get someone else to do that." And the other fence companies...for less work...came in at higher prices. With Stump, I got all this: Great friendliness, honest communication, a quote that stuck for two months, some concrete work on a wall that needed a row of additional bricks installed, some old fence repair, changes to some locks and edges on our alread-installed-driveway gates, and a fully stained on both sides (to match our other fence) very long horizontal fence (like 72 feet long and five feet high at its highest, grading down in size as it moved toward the front of the house) and a new side gate, and locks installed...all for a price, well, I won't tell you because that would be odd...but all for at least 10% less than the other fence companies who didn't do all the little extras for us. It came out great. It looks great. We dig it! And they're so nice and accommodating. When a lock went kaput (the lock company's fault, not Stump's fault) they came back and reinstalled a new lock. We highly recommend Stump and we hope you will have as great an experience with them as we have.

Matt Stump came out and walked my property and provided a fair price 9 years ago for a second property I own and we accepted the bid and the work was excellent then. WAIT THERES MORE.......I recently brought him back for the house that I live in and again we walked the job. With no other bids..... I wanted Stump Fence again because of the quality of their work and what I feel is a fair price. They completed the job today February 17, 2021 after three days of hard work. The fence looks spectacular we are very pleased with the quality of the work. We had two crews and I want to call out their names as they are assets to Stump Fence, Jos'e, Reed, Luis and Danny. They all worked hard, safely, wore their masks. The work sight was clean went they left every night. They communicated with me as the job progressed. Matt Stump came out to quote the job initially. He was honest and gave my husband great suggestions. Lewis and Danny came out over the course of two days and built us a stunning new fence. It was a shared fence with our neighbors and was leaning dangerously into their property. Stump fence came out to give us a quote. They showed up on the day of the job early, and masked up. They took down the old fence and hauled it away. They did the job and charged us as quoted, no surprises. They made sure to clean up after the job, and left the work area cleaner than they found it. We truly appreciate their expertise and true craftsmanship.

Loving our new fence! My project had a unique corner and Luis and Reed took the time to shore up the area and make sure that it was sturdy and looked nice. No other company that i had come out to bid offered a suggestion on how to work the gate around this corner. They were onetime both project days. They took every piece of trash with them at the end of the day and swept and blew off my patio and drive way and left no trash behind. (Meant a lot to the lady of the house) They even worked through the heat and did not cut any corners. They leveled the dirt under my fence so you can not see under the bottom and leveled out the rocks in one of the corner of my yard. I recommend them. Their employees are a true reflection of the job that I hired Stump Fence to do.

My family and I had the pleasure of Stump fence coming up to our new mountain home and fencing off a little area so our dogs were safe. I asked Matt if we could have it done by the time we move in so we felt safe leaving our doggies outside. Without any hesitation Matt made arrangements for his workers to be at our home that following weekend. The workers that showed up were super friendly, respectful and very efficient! I had a problem finding a replacement part for my gate following wind damage. I inquired here through Yelp in an effort to find the part which seems to be out of stock or obsolete. They were quick to respond and helpful, even offering to make a similar part. I reccomend them!

My husband and I were very pleased with Stump Fence Company. Matt Stump came out to give us an estimate and to show us sample photos. He showed us many options, explaining the pros and cons, not trying to sell us more than what we wanted. He was patient in answering all of our questions and responded to emails usually within a few minutes. The workers were always on time, hardworking, and courteous. We also liked that they put up a temporary chain link fence overnight while work was still in progress, so that we and our neighbors could let our dogs out. I am very happy with the 6' almond colored vinyl fence that Stump Fence installed last week (Nov. 2019). They removed my warped wooden fence with its broken latch, and replaced it with a vinyl fence (35 year warranty, made in USA product) that really enhances the property behind my garage. The pool equipment is still shielded from view, and privacy is even better. I like dealing with family-owned companies. Mr. Terry Stump came to give me a quotation. His employees, Eduardo and Ramon, did a superb job of installation, removal of concrete diving board supports (shielding the pool from much dust by holding up a tarp), and cleaning up when finished. I have already recommended this company to a friend of mine. We both previously used a company in Pasadena, but when advised to communicate via e-mail instead of phone, I realized it was taking too much time, and was not "more efficient"-- at least not for me, the customer. Mr. Stump is very professional, and responded promptly to my phone calls as well as e-mail. They are very busy, so expect a 3-4 weeks wait, but it is worth it. Highly recommend.

Great quality. Reliable service. Did several fixes for my project without question, even after I paid them and months later. You may have to wait a month for them to start, but that is probably because they are in high demand.

Stump Fence Co, is a group we would happily use again and whole-heartedly recommend to others. We engaged them to replace the old, deteriorating fencing around our property, a 108 year-old Craftsman that we have restored. From the initial conversations about the type of fencing and all related details (e.g., double-sided, stained, painted or sealed? design of the arbor, choice of hardware, as well as cost, etc.) and throughout the decision-making process, Matt Stump was patient and thorough in answering our questions, providing pros and cons and other helpful information, thus, clarifying our options. Once decisions had been made and the work scheduled, Miguel and Ysidro were sent to remove and install. Here, the quality of the company was equally impressive. Several challenges confronted the crew: 1) having to work around a fully landscaped property (hundreds of flowering plants and bushes and a dozen trees), many of them bordering our lap pool and 2) a very difficult neighbor, who initially refused to allow the crew, quite literally, to step foot on her side of the property line. Despite these challenges, M and Y remained unflustered, courteous, professional throughout, working just as considerately and carefully--once she allowed it--on her property as well as our own; and they managed to win her over in the process. But perhaps one of the truest indicators of the quality of a company is how they respond when something unexpectedly goes wrong. Here again, Stump Fence was impressive. Towards the end of the project, the shop mistakenly delivered a load of unsealed Redwood boards (ours were all to have been sealed); and they were installed before I noticed and called attention to the different hue of the unsealed wood. Long story short, Stump Fence readily and without defensiveness owned the mistake, apologized and--though it meant removing two, extensive, painstakingly-completed sections, running half the length of the pool and then down the side of another property line--loaded them up, took them back to the shop to be properly sealed overnight--and then returned to rebuild those sections! And the crew still managed to finish the project only a day later than estimated. The new fence is just as beautiful and functional as we had hoped; and after twenty years of renovations in various homes across the country, we count Stump Fence among a handful of contractors that we would without hesitation engage again and recommend highly to others!

Stump Fence did a top-rate job repairing and repainting our old rusty gate. They even replaced some of the top ornaments that were missing and had to reduce the length about an inch because we wanted the gate relocated. We were considering to buy a new gate from Stump, but they offered to repair our old one for about half the cost. They installed the gate on schedule. It works better than ever. From beginning to end I found Stump Fence Company to provide reliable, affordable, efficient and polite service. Due to increased scheduling we had to wait a couple of weeks after our consultation for the actual installation, BUT...Boy was it worth the wait. Angel and another installer arrived at 9:30 and by Noon they were packing up...leaving behind a beautiful gate (they even drilled a new hole for the latch). We no longer have a sad gate. It took me months of research to look into what type of wood to get, because I did not want treated wood. I wanted all natural wood. I got three quotes. Terry's quote was the best, but he also explained that I only needed construction grade for a fence, where I had been looking for clear, thinking that would be the best. Terry was very nice and efficient. I had to wait a few days to have him come out but I understood that he had other jobs to do. He is licensed, bonded and offered a guarantee on his work. His crew of 2 put in 45 feet of a redwood fence in 2 days. They cleaned up the area well. Terry was very patient with my asking detailed questions about guarantees, grade of wood, stain, etc. His price was quite reasonable. I would definitely use them again. The fence looks beautiful so I am glad that I took the time to figure out what I wanted and he and his team delivered.

We really liked working with Matthew and the other company members and were happy with the gate they installed. Prices were fair, they came out when they said they would, and they completed the process in a timely fashion. The communication they provided via phone and emails was excellent. Mr Stump was great to work with. He knew exactly what my budget was and vision for what I wanted. A nice wooden horizontal driveway gate reinforced with steel. Came out super sturdy nice looking. I wish I knew about the possibility of having it stained prior to install however that's an easy task I can do.

I had quotes from seven other fence companies and although Stump Fence Co. was not the lowest quote I recieved I had a good feeling based on meeting the owners son Matt Stump, and the good reviews online and the whole family based business thing. It reminds me of the time I worked with my dad when he had his own business and the many hours he put into building it. I hope this company stays around for a while because they have the professionalism and high quality work ethics that is so lacking with a lot of people/companies these days. I really do appreciate the work they do which is not easy! I don't think I would have lasted a day doing what they did. I believe it was Javier and Raul who came and worked on our project did and excellent job! They will definitely be getting future business from me as we still need to get the side fences done. I found Stump Fence doing work at another house and asked for the owners info. We made contact and they came out and assessed my situation and listened to what I actually wanted (a craftsman style wood fence). They were the first crew to actually listen and come back with a good design. I hired them and they did the thing. Even when a troublesome neighbor declared we could not attach to the concrete wall that had been in place for 20 years they calmy changed the plan and put in an extra post and continued on without much delay. Project took a few days and came out great. This photo shows the fence after 2 years (yes I'm slow to make this review).

Terry came out and gave me an estimate for my new privacy fence including razing the old fence , hauling away a bunch of junk, and some digging that would be necessary to stay on the property line. The team of 2 guys came out and did an excellent job, everything stayed on schedule (2.5days for about 120ft of fence), looks great, and cost exactly what was quoted (also the lowest quote we got from any of the contractors that I contacted). Will definitely be recommending Stump Fence to my friends and family if they need new fencing.

Put in a new fence and gate for us. Good work and response time was quick. Came back to fix a small issue - showed up right on time.

We got three estimates for our job, which involved removing an existing wooden fence and a wire fence, as well as constructing a new wood fence and a gate. Stump gave us not only the best feeling about the job, but the lowest price, as well. There were a number of small to medium volunteer trees along the old fence line and two rather large trees that needed to be removed. Mr. Stump said the small and medium ones would be no problem for his guys, but the big ones would be. So we had some tree people come in and take out the big ones. We had the tree people go ahead and do the small and medium ones, too, but they left a rather large stump of one that was intertwined with the old wire fence. Stump's guys were surprised that most of the volunteers were gone, and they had no trouble taking care of the troublesome stump. They pointed out that a perfectly straight fence would encroach on the neighbor's driveway by eight inches, so we agreed to have a slight bend in the fence. The bend is not noticeable! We are not exactly sure where the property line is anyway. Having read the other reviews, we noted that they might be willing to fix the catch on the gate of the fence on the other side of our yard, which was not part of the original agreement. They were happy do do so, and even though we offered them some extra payment, they turned it down. :-)

We got our gates installed today and we are very happy with the way they turned out. If you ever need fencing or gate work done, Stump Fence in Glendora is the place to go. Great Work!!!

UPDATED REVIEW #2: It has almost been a year since Terry and Stump Fence set up our new kennel and iron fence. I wanted to note that despite my going into labor with my son, Terry made sure their team installed the iron fence before we returned home! They are FANTASTIC and my new fence awaited us upon our return. Terry made sure everything worked out and was a blessing. THANK YOU STUMP CO.! UPDATED REVIEW: so while the lack of communication from the office staff still annoys me, Terry has been very attentive. I emailed him after hours about the unknown change in schedule, and he emailed me within a few hours the same day - after work hours. While the local storms have caused a kink in their work flow at the moment (hard to install fences in pouring rain), Terry sent out a crew to at least get my dog kennel completed on time. I still have the iron fence work to complete in my driveway (iron fence wasn't ready yet), but he met me half way which is greatly appreciated. The workers worked fast and needed little guidance or assistance from me. The work was top notch and looks fabulous (thank you!). I am hoping to update this review to 5 stars once the iron fence is installed.

We have wrought iron across the back of our pool area that is about 45 years old. It was rusted and faded, and the weld had come apart in a couple of places. We considered a number of possible options, from replacement to refinishing. Stump Fence Company was a pleasure to work with. Appointments were made and kept, Terry gave me a fair price to remove, sandblast and powder coat my original wrought iron. I can't buy anything as well made as what I have. It looks great! While it was off the property they put some excellent chain link to secure our pool area. The workers were on time, and kept me informed of what they were doing. Just slightly over 2 weeks to refinish and replace it. We are very happy.

My husband and I hired Stump Fencing for two projects, one in Upland and one in Covina. Terry was the contact for the home in Upland. Initial request for estimate was promptly followed by a next day appointment. Terry offered several suggestions and options that fit into the budget. Installation was prompt and timely. A few weeks after install, one of the boards in the gate had warped and Terry was quick to respond and repair the problem. At the home in Covina, Matt was our contact and he was great !! We had a picture of the design that we wanted and he worked with us to get the design to be exactly what we wanted. Matt and his crew also did some alterations to some existing fencing and updated a wrought iron gate. The crew removed our existing chain link gate and repaired the concrete to near perfection. Overall, the experience working with Stump Fence was great and we have referred them to several of our neighbors.

The process from start to finish was a breeze. Terry's estimate was very competitive and he uses higher grade materials than his competitors. The installation crew was on time every day, communicated what they were going to do very clearly, resolved a small misunderstanding, regarding design, with the office very quickly and left my yard as clean or cleaner as it was when they arrived. I highly recommend Stump Fencing.

OUTSTANDING JOB! Had all old wooden backyard fencing and gates, around 300', replaced by Stump Fence Co, with vinyl fencing. From start to end, no problems, hard work and details to doing it right. My new fence is BEAUTIFUL! I will recommend Stump Fence in a heartbeat, a 10 out of 10 for me on this experience. All expectations met, always there when promised, workers very polite, never leaving a mess and keeping me informed.

We have been a Stump customer for 15 years. We go to Stump for all our fencing needs. The estimates are done in a professional manner, the prices are fair and the work has been excellent. We have contracted with Stump for Vinyl, decorative metal, and chain link totaling ~250 Ft. in various sections of or yard. All the fences are still standing straight and tall, just like the day they were installed. The workers are polite and neat, and they clean up after themselves. I recommend Stump, and will use them again.
